There are multiple stories on how fast even a brand new car can wear out. We all know that if you do not take a good care after you belonging it can get destroyed or break. When it comes to a car, we have to make sure it is insured the right way the moment we really need to do it.

People believe that best things usually come with a big check. Well, there might be a point in this but it is not always 100% true. You can get good offers on insurance nowadays without getting tricked into something. Affordable rate can be found if needed. There are a couple of things to be aware of though. It is important to choose a good company that has been around for a while and has good reputation with people. The company that you want to go for should be financially stable which means if you ended up experiencing a collision, your insurance provider has to be financially supportive on time. If not, you will probably be the one to pay all the bills in the end

It takes some time to make up your mind. Before you start signing the papers, make sure you know enough about the company. If you experience any doubts, don’t go for the offer. Find the one that will totally satisfy you and won’t leave you questioning anything. Feedback is very important. There is plenty of internet material on insurance companies so you can Google into it and read the information that will be useful in the future. Of course, cost is important. But don’t make it the priority as life usually punishes greedy people. Don’t feel sorry for the money invested in your insurance, otherwise you will be the one others will pity in the end. It is also smart to shop around and not pay too much either. Good cheap insurance plan may be difficult to find but it still happens. Generally, prices for car insurance can vary between 15% and 20% from different providers and with a little bit of research, there is lots of money you could save on.

There are multiple benefits of having your car insured by a reliable provider. These names do not need you to file the claims personally, or even change your policy. The provider will be there if a claim requires processing or payment. Good names have good customer support which takes care of your smallest requests. Best auto insurance providers do not provide customers with deals that are too cheap to be true. Once you purchase a policy from them, you may rest assured that other than being easy to afford, the provider is financially potential to provide for your claims whenever required.

If you manage to insure you car with a nice company, you can take advantage of different benefits. It is important to keep in mind that good insurance providers will not offer you a hilarious price and the cheapest rate in town for their services. You have to pay a little more than you want to, if you want yourself and your car to be protected well. Auto insurance companies can be found online as well as on every street. To make it easier for yourself, read the car insurance quotes before you get yourself into something. Auto insurance quotes will definitely sort everything out for you if you can’t do it alone.

Looking at the title of this article again, it seems a little strange. Surely it goes without saying that having a company insure your health is a good thing? How can it not be good? Surely people who are insured have better health and live longer? One of the more interesting things about the so-called scientific method is that everyone knows how it is supposed to work. You have to start with a hypothesis. In this case, it would be: people with health plans enjoy better health. You then devise an experiment involving a statistically significant number of people. One group, drawn randomly from the population have health plans. The other group (the control group) do not have health plans. Researchers then monitor their health for, say, ten years. Data is collected and analyzed. Results are published in a peer reviewed journal. Human knowledge is increased. Except, the US has been running this experiment for decades. Millions of people across the age range and with differing levels of health are uninsured. Millions more pay for private coverage. The remainder have plans provided by their employers. The data over the years shows that uninsured people have a lower life expectancy. In fact, the poor on average die seven years earlier than the rich. By a coincidence, many of those without insurance are poor. Now that is bad news for this research. There are many factors contributing to death. They are directly related to the social class and lifestyles of the individuals involved. In this, lack of access to medical care is not a major contributing factor. Put another way: there has never been any research to answer the question posed in the title to this article.

We need to consider two contradictory statements: when they fall sick, the poor go to an emergency room and, if they are lucky, receive treatment that keeps them alive; when they are insured, the rich receive care that gives them better health. Except the international statistics show the US has higher mortality rates than most of the other developed countries. To help you understand, we need a comparison with Europe where there is a completely socialized healthcare service and better life expectancy. Both at a European and individual state level, there are panels of experts who decide what treatments and which drugs represent good value for money. States will only pay for treatment proven effective and safe, and will not pay drug companies the retail price they claim. Instead, the states will only pay for approved drugs at prices agreed in negotiations. In the US, insurance companies happily pay for a battery of medical tests and procedures even though there is no evidence any of this work is effective. This adds to the irony. Sometimes the rich die young even though they have received multiple treatments. This is because their expensive treatments are ineffective.

So long as the healthcare service industry remains profit driven, doctors have a direct financial incentive to perform endless tests and multiple procedures to justify big bills. There is no national body to approve treatments and then monitor their safety and effectiveness. Health insurance companies could challenge the medical profession to justify what they do and the prices they charge. But, for the most part, health insurance companies pay up without question. What is clear that until and until there are controls over medical costs, the premiums on individual health plans will continue to rise. Worse, there is no evidence to show that those who do pay these high premiums live any longer than the uninsured.

Often, California has been in the lead when it comes to legislating for fairness. When a service industry is acting in an arbitrary way and damaging the interests of consumers, you can usually rely on Sacramento to do something about it. So, for example, the Insurance Commissioner instructed auto insurance companies not to rely on ZIP codes when writing policies. The real basis on which to assess risk should always be the individual driver. It’s fair to look at the person’s experience, driving record, how far he or she drives every year, etc. That way you reward the good drivers with lower premiums and hit the bad drivers with higher premiums. This ends the discriminations of higher premiums for people living in predominantly black or Latino communities.

It would be great if we could see this change sweeping across the US, not just in auto insurance, but for all classes of insurance. Unfortunately, the insurance industry has fought the change tooth and nail wherever it has been proposed. Lobbyists with deep pockets have been able to keep the legislators at bay. The ZIP code approach remains the norm.

The most recent piece of research comes out of Chicago and relates to health plans. It seems it’s cheaper to live in the suburbs. The research used just over 3,000 ZIP codes in the Chicago area and, when analysing the rates charged, found that people living in the blue-collar suburbs west and south of Chicago paid almost 25% less for their insurance than those living in the downtown areas. Similarly, the residents of the northern suburbs paid about 15% less. Spread the net more widely and it turns out that everyone living between 15 and 25 miles from the downtown area pays an average of 13.5% less, while those who have moved 25 to 40 miles out of the city pay an average 25% less.

There are obvious explanations. The hospitals and clinics in different areas attract doctors and healthcare providers with different levels of experience and expertise. Operating costs will also change with local conditions. The level of support for public facilities and programs from local government naturally varies depending on the local tax take and political factors. These affect the rates for services the insurers can negotiate with the local provider networks. And then there are all the intangible factors based on the wealth or poverty of an area, the percentage of people without current health insurance, and so on. Put everything together and profiling by geography may produce very different results. This leaves us with an uncomfortable reality. As it stands, the health insurance industry is unregulated. It can charge what it likes using whatever factors it wishes to consider significant. As and when the healthcare reforms pass through Congress, some practices that produce unfairness will disappear, e.g. no more discrimination based on gender, no more discrimination by denying coverage to people with pre-existing conditions, no more caps on lifetime benefits, and so on. But the ZIP code abuse will not be affected. No matter where you live, you will be judged not on your actual health records but the “accident” of your address. Perhaps you should consider relocating to a better area to get the best health insurance rates.

In the midst of all the debate about environmental issues, we are too often distracted by the hot button climate change. Yet controlling carbon emissions is only one of many different concerns about how we live our lives and the impact our lifestyles have on our environment. If we are to hand over a habitable planet to our children, we have to start thinking about every aspect of the systems currently in use and how we might make them safer. One of the less obvious questions is how we dispose of our unwanted drugs. There are a number of quite different issues. One day, you open the bathroom cabinet and find unexpected rows of half-empty bottles and packs of pills, all of which have passed their use-by dates. For a moment, you pause and wonder whether you should do something. Then your eye catches the toothbrush and life goes on for another month or so. Why worry?

Well, the statistics are interesting. In some parts of the country, more people accidentally poison themselves, become hooked on addictive drugs or die of drug overdoses than die in traffic accidents. That should give you pause for thought. The number of deaths from traffic accidents is already an epidemic but, when you collect the statistics from emergency departments around the country, one of the largest groups of people admitted for treatment is suffering drug-related problems. Children are common admissions. Instead of having lockable cabinets, parents store drugs in places easily accessible by children and family members, friends and neighbors with addiction problems. Children are often tempted by brightly colored pills, thinking them candy. Adults can raid your stash of unwanted drugs to feed their addiction. But how should you dispose of these pills?

The temptation is to flush them away. Except this dumps a cocktail of drugs into the sewers that drain into our rivers and seas. Downstream, the water is drawn out by another city or town but the water purification plants cannot remove all these chemicals. The result is that the downstream population consumes a dilute mixture of your drugs. Fish and animals you might eat also drink the water, treated and untreated, so there’s a big circle of life with drugs recycling through the food chain.

That’s why it’s important for every town and city to have a safe disposal system. The best are run by local police departments which offer lock-boxes at strategic locations around every neighborhood. These allow anonymous deposits and deter all but the most determined of addicts. The drugs can then be disposed of safely, usually by incineration at high temperatures. So if you want to reduce temptation and prevent accidents, you should dispose of all your drugs as soon as you have finished the course of treatment. Although painkillers like tramadol are not abused, there should be a general shift in culture to ensure all medications do not end up as part of the cocktail of chemicals in our drinking water or the food we eat. If you do buy tramadol to keep a painkiller in reserve, you should store it in a lockable cabinet to reduce the chances of accidental poisoning or overdose. With children about, you used to worry about keeping liquor in the house. Prescription drugs are far more dangerous.

Imagine what could happen to your business if you were disabled for a few months or trying to recover after a bad accident. Most small businesses are tightly bound to their owners and if something bad happens to the person running the whole thing it can mean bad news for the enterprise. Not if you have disability insurance.

Disability insurance will cover the costs of the business owner or a worker being disabled and will pay for the lost income during the recovery period. So if your business risks going on halt because a key worker is absent then you should definitely get disability insurance with your policy.

Of course, many of you may think that the government will pay for your losses. Yes, social security and worker’s compensation can really help if you manage to get an approval, but still you will have to wait for a long period of time and the coverage you will receive is likely to be less than you really need. And as we all know, time is money and money is time.

One of the most important aspects of disability insurance for an enterprise is deciding how much your business needs and can really afford. First of all you should analyze your liabilities and assets to determine the period your business can sustain without any income. Add up to the additional medical and care costs associated with disability. Of course, personal savings and health insurance can help you for a short time but your business will need financial support for a much longer period. But still don’t expect your income to be covered to the full extent. The insurance company is interested in your faster recovery and getting back to your job, so the part of income you will receive will range from 40% to 80% according to the coverage amount you are willing to pay for.

Disability insurance can make part of your cheap small business insurance plan if you take the right steps when shopping for it. First of all makes sure to buy from a reputable company that has strong ratings, otherwise you risk paying less for your premiums but having more additional costs and being unable to receive adequate coverage. Try joining a business association: members of such associations are often given cheap small business insurance rates that are lower than for individual buyers. Find a good insurance broker or agent that you can really trust. This is the person that will address all of your questions and make the link between you and the company, so establishing good relations with that person is essential. Besides, if there are any discounts or better insurance offers from other companies, your agent is the person to ask about such things.

Whether your enterprise is aimed at cheap small business insurance or has more money to invest in insurance coverage, having disability insurance will definitely save you from a lot of hassle and problem if anything bad happens. Insurance is about eliminating risks and this type of coverage sure has its purpose.

People like to spear rumors they invent. This is a commonly known fact. Sometimes it gets to the point that rumors turn into myths that haunt people and get stuck in their head for ages. In order to get rid of these untrue myths one has to dig deeper into situation and try to find the truth. But we don’t think we need this. It is easier to believe what others say and what we hear around. Here in this article we will discuss the most famous and commonly- spread rumors on insurances related to homes.

They say that the standard home insurance will cover the damages your house will suffer after the flood. This is an absolute nonsense. This doesn’t have any ground underneath it because the flood damage is never covered under the standard insurance plan. When you feel the necessity to cover yourself from the flood damage, you get additional coverage.

Homeowners insurance plan with its medical payment part will pay for the injuries me and my family will suffer.

This is not true. The Medical payment portion of the insurance is meant to protect you in the case when someone other than you or any members of your family gets hurt on your property and they don’t want to take you to court. If it is you or some family member that gets hurt there, the insurance company or the coverage doesn’t protect you from anything.

There is a myth that the company will reimburse anything you tell them you lost if this occurs. This is a fairy-tale to believe in and it is not true. What will happen is the company will tell you to make a list of what you owned at the moment of the loss, but they will make you do it very precisely. They will need pictures of your belongings to make sure you owner those things. So you need to have photos taken of everything you have in your house in case anything like this ever happens to you.

People think that when they file a claim, it raises their premiums. But people don’t always consider that claims are not the only things that matter. It doesn’t always happen so that the premium goes up. Sometimes it takes years. You should always take your deductible into consideration. Also try to find out if there are any discounts that you can apply for. Maybe you get lucky.

Jewelry and furs have limitations. There is a particular sum that they company will give you to reimburse those things in case of burglary. If you own too many of those, please get additional coverage.

Sometimes we think that if we live in a non-flood zone, we can’t have flood ever happening. It can happen to anyone just like earthquakes that can’t be predicted. Flood insurance generally is a nice idea that most home owners should go for.

We think that we are obliged to get some insurance plan when in reality we are not. Nobody forces us to make certain steps. They are totally up to us. Another thing is that it would be wiser to make them in order to avoid some unpleasant and unwanted trouble later.

You should get yourself insured so that you know it and feel protected. Cheap home insurance can be found by those who want to look up and find it. But don’t rush into it. Cheap home insurance plans can be tricky so watch out and don’t listen to gossip on the street. Figure out for yourself. This is the only truth there is.

Some people don’t understand you and give you a slightly weird look when you tell them that they should not go on with their life insurance plan. They say this – “I can’t just drop it. I need to receive some benefits from it”.

From one point of view it does make sense. But frankly speaking this is the only type of insurance we can offer this with. We cannot afford to do something like this with any other type of insurance plan.

People are very strange with what they believe in. They feel upset when the term expires and they realize that they have not been eligible to any benefits they could have had with the service company. Would you rather suffer than be safe? What a weird point.

In reality you should be happy you lived happily without any worries for ten years. Lifetime insurance is a different insurance to what you may think. Of course, it is meant to give you guarantees throughout your life but who can ever grant you a guarantee that nothing will ever happen to you? This no one knows.

Life insurance is there to keep you safe from financial losses that one can meet with the death of a member of his family. If you are not sure about this type of insurance here are some points for you to consider knowing if this type of insurance is right for you.

If you are mostly worried about your family members or people that you are close to, if you think they can experience hardships in case something tragic happens to you, then this is the perfect insurance for you.

Let’s say you are a retired couple. One of the spouses is seriously ill. There is no longer an income that could support the couple like there was back in the working days. So the seriously ill one has to think about the difficulties his partner might meet if he dies. If there is no such case, you don’t need any life term insurance.

There is another important moment. You have to figure out the right amount of money you want your insurance to be about. Think of how much your family will need to live normally after your death. This is exactly the amount of insurance you need to get. You can pay for your life insurance little by little every month. This is one of the good sides of it.

There are a few insurance types you might want to consider. There is a possibility to get a term insurance or a temporary policy. What is that?

Every businessman no matter how big his business is knows that there are numerous risks his enterprise can face every day. And when the business is a small one, the impact these risk can deliver can be more harmful than for a large company. That’s why a smart small business should always think about how to minimize and cover these risks before they can harm the business.

In most cases, your business is not obliged to carry insurance by law unless you’re using a loan and it’s a condition you have to meet. Other circumstances that may induce the purchase of business insurance is having a commercial auto or employees working for you. Still, the fact that insurance is not required by the law doesn’t mean that there’s no risk of your enterprise facing different negative circumstances that may put it on halt.

Here are some of the most widely used types of small business insurance and a brief description of the purpose each carries. Don’t underestimate the risk you enterprise may face as there are countless business owners who have chosen to carry on without any insurance and failed. Don’t make part of that list, it’s in your own hands.

Business property insurance is used to protect your business’s most important assets. It’s a very smart form of investment and risk management that can help you minimize the losses arising from things like fires, earthquakes, riots or even production accidents.

Business disability insurance takes force when a disease or injury makes it impossible for you to perform the tasks connected to the business and will replace your income for the needed period. For example you have a long recovery period after a surgery and are unable to do what you have to do. This is what disability insurance is all about and it’s especially important for businesses with hazardous production operations or risky activities involved.

Business liability insurance is highly useful for small business owners who put their personal assets at the base of their enterprise. When a small business faces liability and legal action it’s quite often that the business owner has to cover the costs with the value of own assets, which of course is not what you want to experience. Liability insurance will protect both your business and your belongings from such risks.

Errors and omissions insurance will be especially useful for businesses that are involved in production or provide services to customers. Errors and malfunctions will always come up no matter how hard you try to minimize them. And in a highly litigious society like the one we live in the consequences of such errors can be very harmful for the enterprise.

Some of you may think that insurance only brings additional costs to your enterprise. But even cheap small business insurance can save your company from serious financial turmoil when facing a serious risk. So invest your time in finding a good cheap small business insurance solution and get the coverage your business really needs.

There are several options available to maximize the chance for children to be included in a health plan. Employer-provided plans routinely offer cover for family members and adding children to private plans is relatively inexpensive. For those families with low incomes who cannot afford cover, there are federal and state funds available to pay for basic cover. But all these options disappear when the child becomes an adult. This is the magic time everyone used to look forward to. Finally, the law recognizes people are old enough to take responsibility for their own actions and removes the built-in protections. Except, of course, these new adults are either still in full-time education or joining the group with the highest unemployment rate in the country. For young adults going through college and university, this is the time when debts are really starting to mount up. Tuition fees and living costs take years to pay off. Adding in the cost of a health plan is often the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Even though all the better colleges and universities offer good value group insurance, this is one additional cost too many. Younger people take the rational view. They have good heath and statistics on their side – the statistics show the vast majority of people enjoy good health during the prime of their lives. The main risks come from accidental injuries with many hit with big bills following traffic accidents. So most young people put off the decision on buying into a health plan and hope their parents will solve the problem for them.

This calculation may be about to change. The insurance industry applies a simple formula to set premium rates. It guesses how much it is going to pay out over the next twelve months, adds its operating costs and a profit margin, and then divides this total among all the people holding a policy, i.e. everyone in the group pays a more-or-less equal share. Because millions of young adults opt out, the cost of medical treatment falls unevenly on older people and those with existing medical conditions. The premium rates for everyone would fall if the cost of the nation’s medical bills was divided between all adults. That’s why the legislation working its way through the House and Congress includes proposals to make holding an insurance policy mandatory or to fine people who do not have a health plan. This is a form of single payer program because it matches the idea that all the employed should contribute a percentage of their earnings toward universal health coverage.

Health insurance is the big political hot potato right now. But, if medical costs are to be controlled and everyone is to pay only a fair amount for insurance, some changes will have to be made. Mandating insurance for the young is not a bad way of paying for universal coverage. As it stands, health insurance companies routinely refuse cover for people with pre-existing health problems. Allowing a redistribution of the additional costs of treating these people among the fit and healthy is the fair option. Whether the politicians will think so is another matter. The Republicans believe this infringes basic liberty. The Democrats are not united. It’s going to be interesting to see who wins the argument.

If you have ever dealt with health coverage plans you definitely know that there are various types of plans out there on the market, each of them having their special features, pros and cons. And it’s quote hard to say which plan type is better, because they all appeal to different customers and different situations. Just like you can’t say that coffee is better than tea, you can’t affirm that HMOs are better than PPOs. So if you are a bit confused with different plans and don’t know which one to choose, this short overview will definitely help you decide with type of health coverage to purchase when you decide you need one.

Health Maintenance Organization (HMO)

This plan type is probably one of the most popular and widely used amongst managed care plans. It delivers a very wide selection of services, including preventive care, regular exams, access to different specialists and medications. However, you are limited to a specific network of medical facilities and physicians you can receive services from. Moreover, you are required to choose a primary car physician (PCP) who will refer you to other specialists when needed. Otherwise, if getting your care outside the network or without your doctor’s referral you will have higher out of pocket expenses.

Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)

PPOs are practically identical to HMOs, taking the fact that you are also limited to a network of facilities and have to choose a PCP in order to receive care. However, you have more freedom when choosing your primary physician, which is especially helpful if you have a good relationship with your family doctor who is out of the network. And you usually get a wider network of facilities to receive care in. Still, any out of network services will be considerably more costly.

Point of Service (POS)

POS plans have strict rules concerning referrals. If you don’t have a referral to other specialists issued by your primary physician then you won’t be able to receive any cheap health insurance coverage at all.

Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO)

EPOs are very close to HMO and PPO plans. It’s the same type of managed care health insurance where you have to select a PCP and are limited to a network of hospitals and doctors you can get medical services from. But the main difference is that with EPO plans you pay for each visit to the doctor or service received when required in contrast to HMO plans where you have a monthly fee that should be paid constantly regardless whether you have used your coverage or not.

Fee-for-Service

Fee-for-Service is the oldest type of individual health insurance that was around ever since health coverage was introduced. With such plans you have total control over where to get your care and whom to address. You pay only for the services you receive and don’t need any referrals in order to get to a specialist. However, the fees are usually much higher than with managed care plans and many insurance experts say that the resulting out-of-pocket expenses are larger than the amounts of money you would spend on a managed care plan.

Now it’s up to you to decide which plan type works best for you. Analyze your situation, see what your options are and get the plan that would reflect your personal interest and would be most convenient to you personally.
